Alternativa Association for the artisans and their communities is a non profit organization, created in October 2007, aiming to support and provide economic sustainability and economic benefits for the social sector of the artisan sector, through trainings, technical support in designing and innovation, developing new competitive and original products, an efficient production and local and international marketing.

Our MISSION is to be a strategic partner of the Salvadoran artisan sector in the market of innovative products, for a sophisticated market and to provide added value services to generate sustainability and profitability for the artisans and also for the Association.

Our VISSION is to be a sustainable organization known at an international level, as the leader in the promotion of the Salvadoran artisan sector, and also as the leading model to promote this sector in other countries.

For all those reasons, Alternativa Association has two working areas: a commercial area which promotes the market of the offer of the Salvadoran artisans and the service area, which coordinates trainings and technical assistance for the artisans groups in the whole country, creating partnerships with supporting organizations and local & international cooperation agencies.

Alternativa Association has the support of the United States Agency for International Development –USAID-, as well as the North American organization Aid to Artisans –ATA-.
